MSU gets unique designation

Gov. Rick Perry signed bill Wednesday designating Midwestern State University as a liberal arts university. It is the only university in Texas so named.
The purpose of the title is to designate MSU as a public liberal arts university “of the first rank to offer the university’s students … preparation for excellence in a variety of careers and exploration of a variety of interests.

The legislation was introduced by Rep. David Farabee, D-Wichita Falls.
